Reviews
Looked quite old from the outside. Alright but not great. One of several churches named after the patron saint of Napoli, Sain Gennaro.
The Papal Basilica San Gennaro ad Antignano is located in Vomero in the city of Naples, right on via San Gennaro ad Antignano nº 82. The parish (since 1956) is located right near the place where the "Miracle of San Gennaro" occurred in 315 for the first time (blood fusion). The construction of the basilica began in 1904 and was declared "pontifical" in 1912.
Wonder
Wonderful Basilica rich in history and architectural pearls. The internal structure is impressive and perfectly preserved and easily accessible.
When visiting Naples, this is a monumental Basilica that absolutely must be visited
A spectacular Basilica in my opinion, where celebrating a wedding is truly magnificent.
The parish priest Don Lello is a special person with a big heart.
Church that commemorates the place of the first liquefaction of the blood of San Gennaro when it was transported from Pozzuoli to Naples. Here stands a church built in the 20th century on a previous chapel.
Suggestive. Next door is the Shekinà youth pastoral center.
Beautiful Church, you can see the crypt of San Gennaro with the bones. A unique experience.
The historic Basilica of San Gennaro is very beautiful, which is one of the first churches present in Vomero. It is interesting to note the contrast of the old photos in which this appeared imposing and isolated, unlike today which is suffocated by the enormous buildings built around it which significantly diminish it.
Parish priest gifted with fantastic empathy
Small church in the heart of Vomero but with an exceptional priest
It is a monumental church in Naples located on the Vomero hill. The construction works began in 1904 and ended after more than sixty years in 1968 even though, still incomplete, it was opened for worship in 1932. It was built in the exact point where, according to tradition, the blood of San Gennaro was liquefied for the first time.
